The other specialties
There are two other specialties that do not require diving in a natural environment: the AWARE courses,
focused on the protection of the environment, underwater flora and fauna,
in relation to the project aware association:
- project Aware
- Aware Coral Reef conservation (conservation of coral reefs).
Advanced Oxygen First Aid - Oxygen therapy (non-diving specialty)
Excellent complement to the rescue diver and EFR course, learn in more detail the effects of oxygen on our body, the various existing equipment and the right actions to administer oxygen to a diver in distress and save his life!
Many other specialties to discover at Padi among the 22 on offer.
We can certify you only for the ones presented above, Indeed, the instructor must be an instructor of the specialty concerned to be able to teach it.
Each specialty is the subject of an individual distinctive permanent certification and grants you a specialty card that you can present at your Padi resort center.
This is particularly important with certain specialties such as nitrox, deep diving or wreck diving for example, where your qualification is verified to access the site, this for your own safety.
Important reminder : the adventure dives of the adventure diver / advanced course give you a credit for the first dive of the specialty concerned:
example: an advanced certified diver only has three out of 4 dives to complete for the deep diver specialty, because the deep adventure diving, which is one of the mandatory dives to complete the advanced course, gives you a credit for this specialty; the same as for the underwater navigator dive.
The reverse is also true, if a certified open water diver performs and completes the underwater navigator specialty for example, the adventure diving of the advanced course is validated and there are only 4 adventure dives left to complete to be qualified as advanced open water diver.
This is applicable to most specialties. Contact your instructor for more details.
